carl_mclaren
I bought the LHSA MP with 35mm f/2 and Leicavit in the hammertone finish. The Leicavit is serial number 1. I paid a premium but less than I would ask. I thought Leica kept the number 1 for their museum. I never dreamed I would ever own anything with a 00001 serial number. stephen_w.
Way cool! I wouldn't use it.
frank_scheitrowsky1
That's just the problem with owning something too nice - you don't want to use it, so what good is it? I have this beautiful cedar strip canoe that I worry about dinging with rocks while loading/unloading at shore.
pensacolaphoto
Carl, This is a disaster! Now you can't use it. ;-)
miky
Oh, nice. Looks like you are not the only one who has that serial number. See KB Camera listing item number 7531700344 on eBay.<div></div>
billsr
I would expect S/N to match on camera , lens and Leicavit in a matched set. Am I mistaken? Best regards, Bill

frank granovski
Carl, you are now Number 1. How does it feel?
carl_mclaren
Mine came from KBCamera. There ain't two ! The serial numbers on the sets did not match, the cameras came first 1/2004, then the Leicavit 2/2004, and finally the lens 3/2004. Later they boxed the three together ( see B & H ) but the serial numbers did not match.
pensacolaphoto
What's the big deal here? If someone is after a money investment he may be better off with buying real estate and the selling it later on. A Leica with Number 1 is simply the first one numbered. erin.e
Don't even fondle it, any slight blemish will detract from its premium collector value, and I believe that the number 1 has specific significance to the Japanese, (could be Chinese) You can toss of just thinking about your unique Leica item! h._p.
"Carl, you are now Number 1. How does it feel?" It's safer than being number 2! (you need to be a 'Prisoner' addict to get that one!)<div></div>

alex_p._schorsch
Why can't you post a photo of your hammertone kit. Please.
carl_mclaren
"Carl, you are now Number 1. How does it feel?" I'm not Number 1, the Leicavit is. I'm embarrassed to say I've never posted a picture but it's time I learned so I will try when I receive it. The operative word is "try".
david_chong2
Sorry to go OT but for me the ultimate "Prisoner" icon has to be the huge white bouncing beach ball. Anyway you're not number six. Congratulations
