connealy Posted July 25, 2005 Share Posted July 25, 2005 Such an inviting subject for the photographer, but so difficult to capture! That last composite composition gets it, I think. Seems like it would be very rewarding to attach yourself to one of these groups for an extended period to try a variety of techniques to translate those lightning moves into images.<br> My only experience of capoeira was a performance during the Day of the Dead celebration in Mesilla a couple years ago. Everyone was wearing some skull-like makeup, so there was even more drama than usual. Shot it with a 135mm on my Spotmatic, and I rather liked <a href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=349257">the results</a>, but they were pronounced so-so by the renowned pn critic, Mr. Z.
