Brooks Veriwide and 220 film

I have been successfully using this camera with 120 film. I would

like to try 220 film, which according to an ancient manual seems

feasible. However, there doesn't seem to be anything to change on the

camera if you want to use the longer film. Is that correct? Do I just

put the 220 film in and shoot?

Any clarifications, handholding, etc, is appreciated!

i have the Plaubel-Brooks Veriwide and after 7 exposures you are on E for empty and there is no way to take any more pix. if you have the later model with the interchangeable back that takes 8 pix then that is different and i don't know.

If you've got the one made from a Graflex front, with Schneider focusing ring, No there's nothing special about 220 film. There is a little knob on the back which can be set to indicate 120 or 220, but it is just for a reminder only. On some cameras the pressure plate on some backs is changable for the two films, but not on this one. I got 16 exposures/roll.

Alec, that's exactly the camera I have, so you've answered my question very succinctly. Thank you!

Ake, I'm taking an extended trip (2 months) and would like to have all my film purchased up front. That makes 220 film more attractive because it halves the weight and bulk the film will occupy. In addition, 220 film reputedly has less of a film flatness problem ... but my main reason is the weight and bulk.

Thanks again!
