german
Sorry. I just saw a post by Alex ... on the same subject. But it was a few months old anyway, and with only one response. So, if there are any other graduates out there, please let us know about this school.

german
Thanks Jules. I'll check it out. Now, it is a living in situation, correct? It's nothing to do online or anything like that, isn't it? Please advise. best, G. Silva
bill_chenaille1
German: Know a lot about Hallmark. It is a school that will help you understand the foundations of professional photography like many of the other schools in the country. Sure there are better schools than others but if you find one that specializes in this field, they BETTER be teaching you how to shoot. Any school is only as good as the instructors. There are MANY good photographers who want to get into teaching in the twilight of their careers because it is a pretty cool gig. So it makes school searches pretty easy. I suggest looking at 2 things: instructors & total costs. Are the instructors simply local photographers or are they the "who's who" of photography. By "who's who", I don't mean simply people who have done ok, I mean those who's work has been and continues to be published in major magazines and whose name is reknowned in the industry. Secondly, if the school is costing you the same as going to Harvard Law School, then you have to ask yourself if it is worth acquiring the debt that could potentially prevent you from investing in the equipment needed to take on high paying contract jobs. Besides, the field of photography requirs a strong portfolio and personality. Once you acquire the academics of studio lighting and principles of composition, your portfolio will develop as you push yourself.
