brian_flaherty1
I am about to embark on a new chapter in my photographic life. I have purchased a couple of vintage RB-67's and I need a good source for B&W film. Years ago(1968), I bought from Freestyle in Los Angeles. But, back then, there was no photo.net and world-wide forums just weren't too easy to access. My question: Where do y'all recommend? I would naturally prefer to buy from a company that supports photo.net. By the way, I have tried Google and several other search engines without much success. They seem to be locked in on Adorama or B&H et al. . .and, I have not really been able to locate a true "film specialty" house. Freestyle did not even come up on their search results! Thanks for any help.
bill_pearce1
But B&H is a specialty house. All the film you may desire, good prices, and reliable. Bill Pearce
frank.schifano
Same goes for Adorama. Freestyle is a good choice and so is J&C if your taste runs towards less expensive fare.
david a.
The above mentioned B&H and Adorama are, of course, popular choices.

Your old supplier, Freestyle, is also a very popular choice. Another
is J&C. Check out <a href=www.freestylephoto.biz">www.freestylephoto.biz and www.jandcphoto.com.
zml
B&H, Adorama, Freestyle, etc. not specialist and "reasonable" enough for ya..? As an aside, the only 220 B&W film still in production is Kodak TXP 320 (not to be confused with Kodak TX.)
leicaglow
I usually load up on film from my closest local supplier (175 miles away). Their prices are far better than the NY companies I deal with, and there is no shipping. Along the same lines, I was horrified at the prices of 4x5 Polaroid film yesterday. I've just about exhausted my personal supply of Type 55 PN, and it's nearly doubled in price at B&H since the last time I bought it.
brian_flaherty1
Thanks to all of you for your input. Here's something funny. . .though, you probably all have found this out on your own. I searched EvilBay and found a few film "auctions" and "Buy It Nows". . .most of which was expired film. And, we are not talking recently expired! In a couple cases, they were 5-6-7 years old! And, had been subjected to heat and fluctuating temperatures[at least they were honest enough to tell you!] But, the "best" part. . .The bidding on the "junk film" was going HIGHER THAN RETAIL prices on fresh film from reputable dealers! rudymerz
That's because they are vintage.;)

25asa
Freestyle still has decent prices for some of its films. Try Efke film for good B&W. Also J&C have their "Classic" films which are less then $2 a roll for 120. J&C sells Adox which is the same as Efke, so that is another option.
