ptkeam
Hi, Has anyone had good luck over a sustained period of time with non-Epson inks on an Epson R220 printer??? If so, what brand. Or ----- is it best just to stick with Epson inks. Thanks
roger_smith4
Question 1 is why you want to switch inks? Cost? Longevity? Quality? MIS UT-R2 B&W inks work great on my R220 which I bought last winter. If you want color, I've heard good things about MIS-PRO color pigment inks, but haven't used it myself. Pigment inks should last far longer than dye-based inks. bob_hollifield
In my area...georgia...Epson took a 33% price hike. Don't know about other brands...
ptkeam
Actually, yes, price is my primary concern -- of course I want top maintain quality. Will non-manufacturer inks affect printer operation over time???
jimsimmons
I'm using the MIS PRO inks in my Epson R200, mostly for the pigment longevity, and I'm VERY happy with the results. Costs me about 80 cents to refill a cartridge, and the colors are good. The MIS folks are very pleasant to work with and give great after sale service and support. Even to me here in New Zealand. I would avoid the off brands that tout "saving money," because who knows what you might get. But the MIS solution is good quality stuff.
