eric rose
After hundreds of rolls of faithful service it has jammed. Got a little to excited shooting some family reunion stuff and cranked the film advance while the shutter was working. Oh well off to the hospital it goes. The camera tech figures it's a quick fix and cheap too. Better be, the camera isn't worth very much these days. Should be interesting though. I was shooting with my 90mm f4 Elmar(?) when it jammed and I finished the roll in my wifes Canon F1, 85mm f1.8 prime lens. Shot the second half of the roll at the same f stop as the first half using Leitz glass. Maybe I should post A/B comparisons and see if anyone can tell which lens was used for which picture. I must admit that would be hard on a low res web image though.
jason_fitzmaurice
Hope your R makes a full recovery.Love the 90mm Elmar 4 on my R. Mine is the uncoated version and there is nothing like it for portraits.
ben_johnson3
Good luck with that repair. The Canon FD 85/1.8 is a stunning lens. I'd be interested to see it side-by-side with the Elmar.
