dominique_ferraton
Hello,I'm having a hard time finding the specs for the different 645 models... specifically, i'm wondering if the Super, M645 and 1000 all have multiple exposure capability? And do all the older models have electronic shutters? Is there any one of them that would be better for long exposures? And is their weight relatively the same? Thanks! custom film holders for fl
Unfortunately, all of the 645 pages I had bookmarked have been discontinued. The 1000S has multi exposure and an electronic shutter. I can answer about the others. Hopefully someone else can add info.
Doug
Dougs MF Film Holder for batch scanning of 120/220 medium format film with flatbeds
bueh
Here is a good website that compares the medium format single lens reflex cameras from various manufacturers. It is in German, though, but perhaps some technical specs will be understandable for you.
All Mamiya M645 models have electronically controlled shutters. As far as I know, the models you mentioned weight approximately the same and have all multiple exposure capability. The latest Mamiya cameras with mechanical shutters are the RB67 and the TLR models (C220/C330). But those are completey different beasts from the tiny 6x4.5 cameras, of course. mike starchuk
If you go to the Mamiya.com web site, you can down load the manuals for the Super and the 1000S - look for Downloads (PDF FILES) on the left side of this web page. Good luck!

dominique_ferraton
Another question along the same lines - the 1000s manual describes an alternative method for doing time exposures : taking out the battery then releasing the shutter, which stays open... it this true of the earlier m645 also, and of the other models? thanks. jack_varney
Having owned Mamiya 645 J, 1000S and 645 Pro models I can tell you that they all had multi exposure capability. I would bet a month's salary the other models (especially later models)also have it.
