Album Phrases

Those of you who design digital albums with phrases on the pages... where do

you find the phrases? I think adding a few phrases (no... not on every page)

can really enhance the album. Adding things like "Forever and Always..."

or "This day I will marry my friend..." on the pages really adds to the

emotion of the album. I have heard of adding some of the personally written

vows, or the words to the song of their first dance. But what else? I want a

variety to choose from so my albums are not cookie cutter albums. I have

spent the last 2 hours searching for meaningfull phrases or quotes, and have

not found many. What do you guys do?<div></div>

"These are the hands..." is from the popular verse that is often read during the vows. I've changed this piece to make it unisex, it had read "his" rather than the "eachothers" I inserted.<div></div>

Ooooops, wrong image. Here's the verse: "These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.

 

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

Thanks guys... keep them coming. I was hoping someone would have that perfect website that had a bunch of phrases on it. Something like a scrapbookers site, or on a website with wedding ideas. I did search, but couldn't find much. I did find some, but not anything great. But, keep the ideas coming!

I'm sorry, but I think phrases like that are sooooo cheesy! In fifty years it's going to be like people saying 'groovy' or something nowdays. Silly.

I like some phrases. ones like "with this ring" can't go out of style. for longer poems I'd stick to what the bride and groom have printed in their programs, recited at ceremony etc. I was also thinking that if they were religious you could use bits from Corinthians about love or scripture used at the wedding. The other thing you could do is more like a story book with titles "almost ready" "throwing the garter" things like this might be okay... like a header even. I'm a scrapbooker myself, and when scrapbooking use someitmes just one word phrases like "smile" or "wow"

Excuse me,.... just who are we to tell the B/G that a phrase that they like/love/want in THEIR book is cheesy? Just like some of the images that a photographer deems as "cheesy", all this does is offer the clients more options and more choices. Sometimes less isn't more.

 

BTW, "Love never fails..." is not cheesy, it's powerful religous verse.

... and, In fifty years the same people will still be saying the same "cheesy" complaints about those who are celebrating Love and doing it in conjunction with Faith. I agree that SOME of it can be cheesey. But, it can also add romance and emotion to the story. I don't think that we should put a lot of writing on every single page. I agree some of the ideas I found when searching on the net were cheesey. (Of course I can't think of any right now as examples.) But adding words from their vows, or thier first dance songs, or parts of their passage from the wedding, can bring a lot into the album. "Love is patient, love is kind..." has been in style for almost 2000 years. I'm not too worried that that one will go out of "style."

I have a book called "Wedding Blessings: prayers and poems celebrating love, marriage and anniversaries" that I get ideas from. I used this on my first album I designed, but can't remember if it came from the book.

Although I do design digital albums, I have'nt used and phrases in them yet. But it might be nice to include any readings etc that they had at their wedding. I had "footprints" as one of ours and it always brings a little tear to my eye!

I'm not sure it would work for my clients unless it was personal to them though.

I recently used this idea on the last page of an engagement guest book... the words are from their first dance song (Broken Road by Rascal Flatts).

Another beautiful reading is from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. It ends with this: Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.

For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together yet not too near together:

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.<div></div>

you could make somethign up - or ask the bride & groom. I think that so many of the 'forever' type of phrases are a bit over the top. my clients, at least, are interested in the images - the phrases are only second-class representations of their memories from the wedding day.

Nice Jennifer, that's a perfect example of the text complimenting the image and creating a nice synergy.
