sean_flanigan
I sent my info to the WPJA yesterday and this AM I was informed I was accepted. Are any of you a member? Has it upped your bookings? Is it really worth the $20.00 a month? I have read what the members have to say on their site, but, I know they wouldn't put negative comments on it. So, is it worth a damn? Respectfully, Sean Flanigan http://seanflaniganphotography.com
stacy
I'm a member and I think it's worth the money. We get as many (or more this month) hits from there than anyplace else (not counting photo.net :) How many bookings do we have because of the wpja? I really don't know-but I know of 2 weddings this year that are a direct result. So ya- it's worth it!
david_schilling___chicago_
Enjoyed looking at your site Sean, lots of neat images! I'll bet the tattooed bride was alot of fun. I'm not a member of WPJA, since I offer a blend of traditional, contemorary, and journalistic styles I wouldn't/couldn't call myself a "photojournalist". agaimages
Congrats! I've just got accepted as well. I only heard good things about being a member. I think it's low cost comparing to other sites for advertising. Keep us posted how it adds to your business, good luck.
jennifer_stone1
Congratulations! I just got accepted too:) This was my third time applying and I am so excited! I definitely think it is worth it, brides are always referring people to WPJA to look for a photographer.
sean_flanigan
Hey guys, I need to clear this up. I actually applied near three weeks ago, and didn't hear back. So I applied again yesterday. I got my acceptance email this AM and I thought it was because I had actually updated my site since then. However the email I recieved from the WPJA was reffering to my application of 4/14, not yesterday. Also, I am very happy to be accepted and I didn't intend to sound reluctant as to joining, I was just looking for thoughts from other members. So, if you applied, be patient, they are busy. And, good job to the others that got accepted! Respectfully, Sean Flanigan. http://seanflaniganphotography.com
wedding-photography-denver
Hi Sean, I am a member and I like it as another outlet/exposure point. Plus, since they only accept about 5% of applicants (so I hear), it makes it somewhat prestigious I guess. Reasonably priced ad space if you ask me. Congrats on your acceptance. think27
So prestigious it won't accept me ;-( I've been told by some here that I have too many posed shots on my site. Oh well.. Yet - I've checked out websites by others that have been accepted and only have 2-3 weddings under their belt - total - plus quite a few posed shots... Two of them jumped into digital with little to no training. It's a mystery.
cariad
Well Mary, I love your work :) and I think it is a wonderful mix of posed and journalistic pictures. In all the years I have done weddings all my couples wanted both, because their parents expect those and so did they.........so why not. Most times the parents pay for the photographer, so why should they not get some posed shots. I like to do both it is all part of a wedding. Maybe I will never be part of that exclusive club :), I don't mind and I am happy for the photographers that make the cut for being more journalist then the traditional photographer, but I do know even they have to pose some of those shots I saw. Anyway congratulations to all of you :)!

anner
Congratulations, that's awesome. If nothing else, I think the exposure they provide is a great deal for the membership price. They do a lot of advertising for their members and they have earned a great deal of respect on both sides of the camera. I wish you the best in the years ahead!
