This is the only one I have seen on eBay and it isn't selling. I have been watching this camera

for several months. It has been relisted 4 times with no bids. Can't reallysay if it is a good

price or not. Nagaoka's haven't been available in the US for some years. Wehn you do see

them used in 4x5 they sell for about the same prices as Tachiharas.

Darcy,

I agree with Ted. There's one that has shown up on e*bay off and on for quite some time...

and hasn't been sold for whatever reason.

I just checked the completed listings for one of these cameras and none showed up at all!

Out of curiosity... have you been offered one by another seller? There's other 5x7 cameras

out there that I'd consider buying over one of these. But, that's just my opinion. :)

Cheers

No, I just thought it would be a good camera to buy in the future. You mentioned one

showing up on e*ay, at what selling price?

Also, you stated that you figure there are better cameras out there, can you specify which

ones and what they would sell for?

Darcy,

I don't think that Nagaoka ever sold so... there isn't a complete listing price on it.

There's WAS a Deardorff 5x7 with a 4x5 reducing back for sale here on Photo.net for

$995. I've just looked again and the ad seems to have been removed. So, he might have

sold it. It's the same camera I have and I love mine! Sad part is... I paid about 50% more for

mine but mine was re-finished some years ago.

Anyway, if you keep a sharp eye out... you can find these cameras listed in the classifieds

here or on the APUG forum for a fairly reasonable price.

Good luck.

Cheers

I couple years ago I bought a similar Anba Ikeda 5x7. I paid $850 for it. That also included a 4x5 back. The camera was in user condition. They seem to be pretty rare in 5x7 size. So I jumped on the first one I saw and probably over paid. I love mine as I can easily carry it. Bellows is short at around 15 in so I use an extension lens board for a 355 lens. Will focus a 90 easily and probably would go closer playing with the front standard. Nice camera for what it is: light, not real sturdy but gets the job done, great for wide angle but not long lenses and relatively cheap compared to other models. Deardorf is a better camera but heavier.
