garethspics
I am condidering a longer lens for my Crown Graphic. It seems that most 240mm lenses come in a Copal 3 shutter which is pretty big. Will it mount OK on the Graphic lensboard?
j_rgen_loob
Gareth I dont know the size of the crown graphic lensboard . I have an ARCASWISS 4x5 F-METRIC with the 110x110 mm lensboard . And . . . . I have mounted an APO-SIRONAR-S 240mm in COPAL 3 shutter on that little lensboard . It works absolutely perfect and i never ever had any trouble with it . Room enough for the releasecable Hopefully , this info helps a bit .
neal_wydra1
Dear Gareth, I have an Acme #4 mounted on a Crown Graphic lensboard. It required a 66mm hole.
cmonkey
A Copal #3 will work on your Crown.

jeffdyck
If it is a concern, not all 240mm are mounted in Copal 3 shutters. I am using a 240mm Fujinon-A, which is mounted in a Copal 0 shutter. Other choices are the 240mm G-Claron and 240mm APO-Ronar both mounted in Copal #1 shutters.
scott_davis5
You may have to put a little bit of a spacer between the shutter and the lensboard so you can operate the lensboard release mechanism, because the #3 shutter is rather large. Something on the order of a couple millimeters should suffice. The lensboards on a Crown Graphic are about a 3" x 3", which is about 75mm per side- a tight fit for a Copal #3. Where you may have an issue is fitting the rear element of a 240 through the lensboard opening, depending on the lens design.
jason_b.
You will need a spacer to clear the lens board locks. S.K. Grimes can help you with this.
gabriel_benaim
Sorry to piggyback, but I was wondering the same re a gowland all moves. How small are the gowland pocket view's lensboards? Can you fit a copal 3? Thanks.
