julio_m
Will it block the 90mm frame - WITH FOCUS AT THE CLOSEST POINT ?
tom leoni
Hi, Julio, With the M3, it will cut off the bottom right-hand corner of the viewfinder. Although I don't have a iiig (iiia and iiic/f is all I have), I wouldn't rule it out that it would do the same with it. The easiest way around it is to use a cold-shoe mounted viewfinder. I love the CV lenses, and I even use them on my earlier screwmounts with no problem at all--provided that I use an accessory viewfinder. I hope this helps. julio_m
Thanks Tom. Just in case, I want to be clear I'm speaking of the 90mm frame -not the 50- on both cameras and at the 1 meter setting. Any suggestions on smaller and reversible rubber hoods?
tom leoni
Yes--perfectly clear: the 90mm frame is what I was referring to. Unfortunately, I do not have any experience with other hoods. Perhaps somebody else here does. In any case, I wouldn't give up on that wonderful lens. ;-) Tom
vincenzo_maielli
Hi, dear Julio. I own a CV Apo Lanthar 90 mm f/ 3,5. With the supplied lens hood, i don't have any problem in the finder, both Leicas or Bessas. The mechanical and optical quality are true outstanding. The CV Apo Lanthar it's a fantastic lens. The minimum focus distance it's 120 centimeters (47,24 inches). Ciao Vincenzo Maielli
julio_m
Grazie, Vincenzo.. Still looking fo a smaller reversible rubber lens hood suggestion which would take less storage space.
vincenzo_maielli
Keep attention, Julio. For use the original VC front lens cap, you must use the supplied lens hood. If you want mount a folding reversible rubber lens hood, i think you need a 39/40,5 or 39/49 adapter ring and universal front lens cap. peter_svensson
Close focus distance on my 90/3.5 is 1m. I think some early versions may only focus down to 1.2m. It blocks a bit of the 90 frame on my M3, but not to a disturbing degree.
