connicut
hi there just a quick question, i was just wondering if this lens will work on my nikon D2h and how well it will work( e.g. will it be fast enough to use the 8fps mode) this is its description: "manual Fisheye lens for Nikon cameras. 4 built-in filters" not alot sorry. cheers nathan<div></div>
ellis_vener_photography
I'm not sure how lens speed has anything to do with FPS on a camera. It is a fisheye lens and you'll get the characteristic uncorrected "barrel" (or is it "pincushion"?) distortion a fisheye lens exploits to record an ultrawide angle of view. james_flynn2
Hi Nathan As a Nikon D2H owner..you will still be able to shoot at 8fps..but I'm curious, what on earth will you be shooting on a wide angle at 8fps!? All the best James Flynn.
connicut
Oh i will be using it for skateboarding photography, but i will really need a AF lens for that, this is mostly just for single shot cheers nathan
frank uhlig
At 16mm focal length, your DOF will be verryyy large, so if you close down to f/5.6 or f/8, you will not need AF at all; just set the lens once to a middle distance and shoot. So what do you think? 8fps: no problem, right in the skater's face, no problem, everything sharp, except motion blur: no problem.
todd peach seattle, washi
I'm not sure if this is the question you're asking, but I'll answer it anyways: I would not bet on the Sigma lasting long at 8fps at anything other than wide open. That is asking a fair amount of the aperture stop down mechanism, and Nikon Lens' build quality may actually count for something in this particular regime. stephen_kruft
It is a good lens, though quite big and heavy. I have the same one for Pentax. I have not used it with a fast motor drive. By using the attachment (shown) with a round hole, you cut off part of the picture and make a round image.
