Is there a quicker alternative to cloning/healing?

Hello. After nerve-racking cloning and healing invested in removing various

telephone & powerlines from this shot, I was wondering if there's a quicker

alternative to all this. Or at least some tips and tricks (I basically zoom in

to 200-400% and heal/clone) on how to faster achieve the end-result. <p> Thanks

IF your using CS2 you could have used the patch tool to get rid of all the lines in the empty spaces around the tree, then clone just the areas over the tree.

Ah, the patch tool! I'm using PS CS1, and simply forgot about that option under the healing brush (I did take notice of it some time ago, but completely forgot until now). Thanks for reminding me.

When cloning and healing in long straight stretches, if you hold down the <shift> key at the beginning of the line to be cloned out, do a single click, then repeat at the end of the line, you will have cloned/healed a line between those 2 points. Obviously this can only be used on the areas uncomplicated by foliage etc, but it can speed things up. The <shift> key is on a Windows system, might be different on MAC.
