jeffreyh
Does anyone know the difference between these two CF to PC Card adapters? I amusing the one with the blue label and Sandisk Ultra II 512MB cards and it takesaround 10 minutes to download a single card at capacity. Will getting teadapter with the black label speed up the download time?

<a href="http://www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx?ID=1138"target="_blank">http://www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx?ID=1138
<a href="http://www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx?ID=1143"target="_blank">http://www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx?ID=1143
savagesax
I may be wrong, but sounds like a computer memory problem. How much memory is in the computer? How fast is your computer?
jeffreyh
I have 1.5GB of ram, 1.6GHz Centrino processor. I dont think it is the system, but the adapter. The adapter with the black label mentiones Ultra and Extreme cards, which are the Sandisk's high speed cards. They just don't say if it is faster. jeffreyh
I don't know the difference between the 2 card readers, but both are only 16-bit, in turn only about 1MB/sec.

Lexar makes a 32-bit (13MB/sec) PCMCIA adapter for $40 from B&H, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=328110&is=REG. george_bourke
B&H also sells a "generic" GC CF-to-cardbus adapter...the reason you may want to consider it is because it also handles Type II cards (microdrives) if you use any of those. It is around $20 with a great storage case that'll hold the adapter + 2 CF cards.
