2yellowdogs
Marc,
Though I don't own a rolling case, I'm pretty partial to LowePro. They have a few, but the Pro Roller seems to fit the bill. I also like the Road Runner AW because it can double as a back pack.
Now neither is hard-sided, so you probably wouldn't want to sit on them. But, like anything that's LowePro, it will be extremely well designed and well made.
j.kivekas
A comment of the Lowepros: I've had a Minitrekker for some years now and I am completely fed up with it due to the soft internals. It does not keep the shape and it makes getting the gears out pain sometimes. I've looked at the Tamracs and they seem to have stiffer internals, but I have no real experience of those. I've also thought about building a sittable packback myself with a seat belt type spring system reeling the harness in 'cause I am also fed up with the numerous harnesses hanging out in my present pack. I am actually quite surprised how imaginationless the pack manufacturers are - at least the ones with name photo circles. Say, compare to toolpacks and you find all kinds of solutions. discpad
Why not go to Wal-Mart or Target and get a rigid plastic cooler? Or, what I use -- And gave a photographer friend as a Chanukah gift as well -- is a $15 two-part wheeled toolbox like the one pictured below. Also, take a spin over to Home Depot and check out the wheeled toolboxes there as well.

Rick Waller
ThinkTank Photo has the Airport Security Roller. Simply outstanding - expensive, but just the best rolling bag I have ever seen or used. look here: http://thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_ArprtScrty2.php by the way - I got mine from Henry's in Toronto (I live in NY) and the price was the best of every shop I tried in the States. scott_brooks1
Just a quick note should anyone decide to go with the Think Tank. I started to purchase one and almost hit the "submit" button when I noticed that the shipping was going to be $90. I quickly backed out. I think I then went to Penn and the case was the same amount ... but no shipping. I don't know if they still have that or not ... but saving ninety bucks when the selling price was the same was pretty significant.
