MTC Photography
About the origin of Tessina, some attributed the design to Paul Nagel, the designer of Kodak retina. This is rather misleading. The Ur-Tessina was patented by Rudolph Steineck, who also designed the famedABC Steineck wristwatch camera. Rudolph Steineck's orginal patent docment can be found inR. MTC Photography
The basic design of Tessina patent belongs to Rudolf Steineck. However Paul Nagel did play a part in the development of Tessina: Paul Nagel and Rudolf Steineck co-invented the shutter and film transport mechanism, the rewind crank for the Tessina camera, patent submitted by Rosarie Steineck. martin_pistor
Hi Martin, actually a real pity, they didn't realise the exposure meter, as described in the patent document. Martin
MTC Photography
Martin, Yes, it is a pity, the design was for a real half frame TLR too.
MTC Photography
I have a Tessina meter, it is cute and small, at 19.5g, it is the smallest exposure meter
However in actual use, it is not accurate,( due to its small window and the moving scale). My test roll with Ilford PanF+ set at ASA 50 resulted in severe underexposure
