raczoliver
This is a dumb question, but I bought a Bronica SQ-A not long ago, and do not know how to turn the shutter to "B" mode. Is it possible at all? Thanks.
kevin_ing
The SQ-A does not have a B mode. However, most of the SQ lenses (except the one that came with the SQ-B) have a T mode on the lens itself. On PS lenses, the switch is held in place by a pin that you just pull outward, which frees the switch. On older S lenses you have to unscrew the locking pin enough to move the switch. With this switch on T, no matter what shutter speed the body is set to, the shutter will remain open once you press the shutter release button. To close the shutter, slide the switch back off of T mode. You might want to cap the lens before sliding the switch in case you're worried about shaking the camera in the process of flipping the switch. It's a kind of troublesome process... but I believe one advantage is that it does not use battery power when done this way.
raczoliver
Thanks, but where exactly is this pin? I have the PS 80mm lens, and I see something on the buttom of the lens, a little right from the centre (lens facing away from me). It does look like a pin, but cannot be pulled out or pushed in. Next to the pin there is a sliding lever that is similar to the DOF preview lever, and has an "A" written next to it, but it does not move either. kevin_ing
Oliver, Yes, that's the T switch. The silver pin (for lack of a better word) should have a notch in it if you look at it from the side. You can use your fingernail in this notch to pull the pin outward away from the barrel of the lens. Then you will be able to slide the switch to T mode.
