bbb1
When I look through the entire Portofolio of some Photographers on PN, sometimesI find that I like very much a Particular Folder of this Photographer in hisEntire Portofolio. and I would like to give a personnal comment only for thatspecific Folder within the Portofolio, but I cannot! I have to give an overallcomment for the Entire Portofolio of the Photographer! So my question is - would it be possible, in future, to be able to COMMENT ONLYSPECIFIC FOLDERS within the Portofolio? with of course the same option to put a comment for the entire Portofolio! Thank YOU :) Biliana
mottershead
It is a good suggestion and I've thought about this before. It wouldn't be hard to implement. On photo.net just about anything can have a comment on it. The reason I didn't implement it is that folders tend to be a bit volatile. People create and delete folders and move photos around quite a bit. If people were able to comment on folders, they could find either that their comment had been orphaned because the folder was deleted, or the content of the folder could change completely making their comment irrelevant. This could happen with a portfolio comment too, of course. But it is a little less likely. Thanks for the suggestion.
bennyboy
Brian, if people wish to delete a folder, then they should lose the comments too - otherwise how would they be relevant? Please please, can we have a section on our workspace page showing a brief list and the dates of our latest portfolio comments? It's the one thing we can't see has been updated from our workspace or profile page.
bbb1
Thank you Brian for your prompt response :) You are right about erasing a folder means erasing comments, and it is of some importance, but not the main point here, no? I mean, if One wants to erase his/her Folder, I will let him do it so, and even if my comments are lost, I dont find that this is a problem for me commenting that folder! Oh, well I dont know, just a suggestion, cause sometimes, I just like that particular photographs in that particular Folder and I do not want to comment the entire Photographer`s Portofolio! I hope your reply is not definitive, shall we see what Others have to say about it? Thank YOU, Biliana
carlosquandt
I can only see 1 advantage: you just have to download a specific part of the portfolio, so less time to spend on the net By the other side, I've read a lot of comments like "i like very much your dragonflies, or your W/B trees...." so, you comment what you want on the portfolio. No need to comment the rest no? Please, excuse my bad english. Regards
bbb1
TO Carlos Q. Yes, you have a point here regarding the Download of this separate folder, I like that idea too :) Thank YOU, Biliana
aepelbacher
Could the photographer/owner of the folder choose to enable/disable comments on a particular folder, a simple (?) toggle? Because so many of us use a "Recent uploads" folder, or put new uploads in the "Single Photos" folder ... and that would be the folder that I would disable comments for. But the rest of my folders are rather static in content.....
