steve_myaskovsky
I created a website using FronPage (pretty easy). I used one of the gallery that they have. It looks fine if you use IE to view it. But, if you use any other web browser it does not look the same. www.pictureperfectbysteve.com Does anybody know what I need to change to make it right in other web browser? ralph_wilson
HI Steve, I looked at in IE6 and Netscape 7.2. I didn't notice any difference. Looks good.
jewan_runhaar
Hi Steve, That's the problem with FrontPage. If it works it works if it doesn't you are in trouble. Frontpage produces a LOT of unnecessary HTML. Somebody asked me about a similar problem about a month ago. I found it easier to code everything by hand and eliminating the problem at the same time than editing it in FrontPage. That said, I don't really know anything about FrontPage (and am proud of it ;), so maybe someone does know an answer to your question. If no one knows and you have to track it by hand you could have a long night ahead of you...

ralph_wilson
Hi Steve, What I see now is that the thumbnails all load in Netscape so you have a huge horizontal scroll. I think its the Javascript that is the issue. It looks like you used an FP webbot. That usually spells trouble for Netscape. If you are inclined to learning Javascript and HTML you can probably re-write it to work. I have a deal with my son. He fixes my code, I fix his pictures. Good luck, I have been using FP for years, but I know a lot of people prefer Dreamweaver.
joris_van_looveren
It doesn't work with Netscape 7.0 for Mac. It works with Firefox 1.0 for Mac. (In both, however, the thumbnails extend beyond the right border of the window. I have to scroll right to click on the thumbnails, and then scroll back to see the picture, which is not really convenient. Is it like this in IE too?) The page source shows numerous checks for older browsers (IE4 and NS6), but they are commented out. Maybe you can check an option in Frontpage for compatibility with older browsers or something? gmahler5th
Create a custom HTML template for Photoshop, and generate your galleries with a batch action. Your galleries will disiplay in all browsers perfectly every time. Never touch HTML code again. How does that sound? The thing about FrontPage is that it it uses "bots" to construct your page. A bot (short for robot) is a custom script that automates advanced features on Web pages. The thing is, even FrontPage bots can be buggy, and cause problems when building a website. I don't trust them at all, and gave up on them 5 years ago. The thing about these bots are that you don't know what code the script contains, and can cause problems when used with any browser other than IE. Here is an example of a bot on your page. <!--webbot bot="PhotoAlbum" U-Include="photogallery/photo30814/real.htm" clientside TAG="BODY" startspan --> I would recommend working with a professinal developer to build a custom HTML template that you can use in Photoshop to automate creating galleries for you. The code will be much cleaner, run on all browsers, and you will never have to troubleshoot FrontPage code again! :-) Shoot me an email if you are interested in having me build a custom Photoshop template for you. nerius
Hi, Everythings looks the same with Mozilla Firefox except the gallery. I think this is not because of Frontpage. This is because it uses javascript that hides the thumbnails that doesn't fit into page using "overflow:hidden" attribute. Try using other type of gallery placement or check the web for solutions to this. Good luck!
sabrina_h.
It looks pretty good in Safari with a MAC except for the horizontal scrolling (nice images btw). My website last year had horizontal scrolling. For the larger image to stay centered on the screen, you may need some frames. I had 3 frames; top static frame for my logo, middle frame for the content (horizontal scroll) and bottom static frame for the navigation. It would be easy to fix in Adobe Golive (which is what I use). My husband (graphic artist/ web designer) usually builds me a template based on my idea and I just fill it with images. I dont have a horizontal scroll on my website this year though :) ... but it can be fixed with a little professional help.
