momente
I was wondering: how does the individual photo counter work, here on photo.net? I mean, I post a shot today in my gallery (not in the critique forum), then the next day (perhaps 12-14 hours after), it sais it's been viewed around 100 times. I wanna know if my own clicks and reloads and possible ulterior file edits (I sometimes decide to change the frame, so I edit the file and upload the new version) register as hits, or if the system only counts as relevant clicks from different IP-s. mottershead
The view counter counts all hits on any of the two or three sizes of the photo that you uploaded. This includes thumbnails where your photo is displayed with other photos, including your portfolio, your folders and presentations, Top Photos, etc. The view counters are extracted from the web logs, once per day, generally in the early to mid-morning Eastern Time. Your own views of the photo are included.
