FP4 vs FP4+

Does anyone recall when Ilford changed the designation (and,

presumably, the formulation) of FP4 to FP4+?

 

I recently discovered an old, exposed roll (from a bulk load)

accidently left in with a bag of ancient, funky film cans. It came

out very thin and fogged, even though I added 50% to the development

time for FP4+. It may be too thin to print conventionally, so I may

have to have a buddy scan any interesting frames for me, and print it

that way.

 

I have a hunch this roll may date back to the mid-70s, but won't know

for sure until I can see a contact sheet. Most of it seems

portraiture, and I'm hoping I can identify the subjects.

I think the "plus" version came out in the very late 80s or early 90s.

I would also be interested in knowing about this. I think I have two 100 foot rolls of FP-4 in my freezer. It was purchased as Ilford was making the switch.

Search the archives or my postings. I had the same question a few months back.

I'd gamble on '88, but not with a lot of money.

What the difference is between FP4 and FP4+, I don't know-

I was mostly a Kodak user before FP4+-

 

but I intend to find out,since I shoot a lot of FP4+ lately

The Plus line of films were introduced right around 1990.
