james_cooke
Just wondering which model Billingham is the same as the M Combo bag. The Leica sold one isnt avaible here but I cant determine if its the same as the L2 or the small Hadley? Or is it a unique bag altgether? Its difficult to tell from photos. lee hamiel
I'm pretty certain it's a unique bag - where are you located? B&H sells them & they will ship internationally.
bert_keuken2
Indeed it's a unique bag, just another Billingham commissioned by Leica. The M Combo bag and the L2 bag look a bit "boxy" whereas the Hadley is thinner (back to front). I've got a Hadley Original for one Leica M, four lenses a flash & other stuff. Great bag. paul_neuthaler
I've got the Billingham "ALICE" -- Billingham's anagram for LEICA. It's in great shape. Yours for $150, including US postage. Email me -- pdn42@optonline.net
ben z
According to the published dimensions it would seem to be the same size as the L2/Alice, but it looks from the pictures to have a different configuration of the front pockets. It also lacks the leather corner reinforcements of the A2 yet the M bag is more expensive...guess that's a Hermes-Leica thing, like the meterless MP classic being twice the price of a metered one. I got my Alice for $99 in 10 condition from B&H a while ago. Nice bag for going to LHSA meetings : ) but I prefer something more utilitarian for actual shooting use. ben_smukler
It is a unique bag, reguested by Leica. It is supposedly sold only through Leica dealers. The Avea 3 & 5 pockets fit it, as well as a new pocket, available only through Billingham direct, which appears to be the Avea 3 but which also says "Leica" on the tab. r s
K&S in Palo Alto, California have the M Combo bag in a number of colours - as well as the L2, etc.
jorge
Get the L2. The front pocket is different (lacks the zipper) and is easier to use. Also, the tabs go from bag to cover and are more convenient.<div></div>
bryan_andregg
As everyone else has said, it's a unique bag. I don't have experience with other Billingham bags, but I was given one of these for free when I bought my M7 not too long ago and it's a great bag. I don't think I would have paid the retail for it, but I'm happy to have it. I regularly carry two M bodies with lenses mounted in the main compartment and the front pocket is big enough for a bunch of film and a vivitar 283. It's very comfortable to carry while shooting and in black on black it's unobtrusive. I especially like the way the flap is designed to fall closed without having to be fastened.
