brandonhamilton
I think I might be missing something. In my shooting menu, I have the Flash shutter speed set to 1/60th (standard). But when I have my SB800 mounted in i-TTL mode, and the camera in aperture priority mode, it does't set the shutter to 1/60. The meter acts just as if there were no flash attached. Not a huge deal as I normally shoot in manual, but I know that it USED to do this. What am I missing?
jay_hern
Did you try cleaning off the contacts?
brandonhamilton
The flash works fine, and all flash/camera connections work normally. Happens on the camera shoe, as well as on my sc-17 and sc-29 cables.
Jerry_
If the scene is 'bright,' the camera may not require SB-800 output to get a good exposure. Using i-TTL in 'A' mode may also be part of the problem....you can put the SB-800 in 'A' mode: both the camera and the SB-800 would be in sync for a better term. When in 'aperture priority mode,' you cannot pick the shutter speed: you pick the f-stop. The SB-800, on a D50 body, does what it is supposed to in 'P' 'S' or 'M' modes. A non-i-TTL speedlight (the SB-22s) works OK in 'A' mode.
mark_sirota1
Any chance you're in slow- or rear-sync mode?
