How to buy Photoshop CS at a good price?

I'd like to buy the Photoshop CS Full Version (I'm interested in the

English version).

I can buy it at &1060 in Poland, where I live, but it's really too

expensive for me. Adobe USA sell the program at $649 at their online

store.

Is there anything wrong in buying software directly from Adobe USA?

Will they consider my copy legitimate and will I be able to register

it? I'd like my copy of PS CS to be upgradable in the future.

Are there any other ways to buy PS CS at good price? I'm completely

lost in all the possibilities, different upgrade methods etc.

How to avoid scams? Which sellers can be recommended and which should

be avoided?

On ebay there are offers consisting of PS 6 and PS CS, the v.6 is

only for registration for upgrade (serial). What should I know about

such offers?

Unless there's some function with only Photoshop has, why not try Gimp?

Adobe's anti-piracy measures tend to work against them. Making it difficult to buy for

overseas customers, plus discriminatory policies about certain countries, will send people

looking for bootleg versions. But it's still the best software of its kind available by far, and

worth the (US$) price.

 

Do get a legitimate copy of the latest version (CS is very much improved); the only reason

to get an older version is if you lack the system requirements. (It takes up a lot of hard

disk space!)

 

Please write to Adobe about this. A lot of people have the same problem, and will not go

through the difficulties of buying from abroad. Never download it off a hacker's site: you're

almost guaranteed to get spyware thrown in.

Looks like Adobe does not sell directly to Poland online. They show Austria and Germany

among other European nations at http://eurostore.adobe.com and the prices appear way

higher than the US store. I wonder why this is the case.

Dude, just something to consider, but you go buy an ebay copy of Photoshop 4 and THEN buy the upgrade to CS. It would save you a lot of cash, and still be EXACTLY the same thing. I would, however, write the seller and ask if this is a legal version. Stay away from anything called "OEM", they're bootleg. Good luck Thomasz

I received Photoshop Elements 2.0 with my 10D. Adobe has a special offer with which you can <a href="http://store.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catCanon">upgrade it to PS CS for just $299</a>. The offer is valid only in the USA and Canada, so that's bad luck if you're in Europe.

<p>My brother lives in the USA, so I let him buy the upgrade for me and send it to me (in the Netherlands).

<p>Before I did this, I asked Adobe if I could use that version of PS CS here in the Netherlands. They said it's no problem, but if I need support, I'd have to call Adobe in the USA, and they would not ship it from the USA directly to me (they sent it to my brother and he shipped it to me).

Can I buy regular PS Elements 3 and then upgrade to CS or is this offer limited to this Canon promotion only?
