nee_sung
Last night I upgraded NeatImage but in my stupidity I un-installed the3.x version without taking down the registration info. I could not register the new NeatImage and an e-mail to NeatImage wentunanswered. I am just thinking whether it is worth buying it again: I also haveNoise Ninja and Kodak GEM Pro and Noise Reduction from Focus Fixer ( Ido get carried away sometimes). Any comments and advice will be greatly appreciated. Please do not doany research, just give me your feelings. I will not ask you tojustify them by any subjective data, logic, authority, etc, etc... Thank you all in advance.
daniel_staver1
I'm sure they will give you the registration info again if you just give them a little more time to respond to your email. I made a similar request to them once and they mailed me all the info I needed.
bobmichaels
While many rave about NI, I bought it but never use it anymore. Don't use anything else either. When I view prints made with any grain reduction s/w vs. without, I just like the overall look of the "without" better. Sure it eliminates grain but at the expense of the overall look of the print to my eyes. Of course, "Your Mileage May Vary". If you like the softer "no grain" look, I'm sure NI can furnish your old registration number during regular business hours.
jwink3101
I have personally never liked any noise reduction program because they do mess up the image to some extent. The best of them is NI though. What i like is Scott Kelby's technique for removing color noise and make it look just like grain. Grain is acceptable and even often considered artistic. I used to use Fred Miranda's noise remover action (the older ones i haven't used the new ones in years) and it really degraded the image upon any closer inspection. Just my $0.
photom
I would recommend the new version of Noise Ninja. It has many different options and works faster than NI. Usually you just want to reduce noise in the background and in areas that have no detail (sky, or whatever). NN allows you to do this by painting back areas that you do not want the program to affect. You can also select by specific color and many other options. I think it works great. robert_martin5
I have the NeatImage Pro+ version and the Photoshop Plug-in allows you to use NeatImage on any area you select using Photoshop selection tools. I only use NeatImage in Photoshop.
nee_sung
Well NeatImage has not responded up till now. Maybe I did it the wrong way. I bought it from a re-seller in the UK (I don't know why I did that, I'm in Hong Kong). Maybe I should contact the re-seller instead?
