Well for the museums and galleries I'd definately recommend the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay. They are very near to each other on either side of the Seine. The Louvre is _huge_ so don't expect to see it all in one go. The Musee D'Orsay has a very impressive collection of impressionist works. These are on the top floor. The building itself is a converted railway station so the central area is very light and open.

You'll be there over a weekend, so unless you're working I'd recommend a visit to a Parisian street Market on Sunday. The one I like the most is in rue Moufftard. Take the metro to Place Monge, there's a food market as you leave the station and rue Moufftard is a hundred metres or so behind that. I'd try to get there about 11am as that would give you time to look around and then get something to eat afterwards.

There are the obvious tourist places such as the Eiffel tower and Notre Dame. The quais at the back of Notre Dame can be very good from a photographic point of view, and if you cross over to Ile St Louis you'll be able to have an ice-cream at one of the Bertillon shops - almost worth a trip to Paris by itself.

I never really liked Montmartre, too many tourists, but a good view over the city.

If the weather's fine consider taking a bateau mouche on the river. They depart from the western end of Ile de la Cite near Pont Neuf.

I mustn't forget the Palais Rotaye, near the Louve, the gardens are another of my favorite places.

Hmmm, I'd better stop there or else I'll be recomending the whole of the city :-)

Best panoramas are from the top of the Arc of Triumph in the late

afternoon. Those from the Eiffel tower are good but have that

sense of "deja vu!" The othersuggestion is Paris at NIGHT. The

monuments are all beautifully illuminated (aka, the City of

Lights.) Bring a 80B filter in order to eliminate hte yellow

nightlight cast. Enjoy yourself!
