ricky_bennett
I was approached by a mother wanting me to do some modeling shots of her teenage daughter. No problem, until she asked about a "zen-card." Anybody know what this is about? I'm really lost and I can't find any answers on Google.
david cunningham
a zen card is a larger-sized post card that has several headshot style photos of a person, usually as different characters or fashion types that are sent to agents and potential clients. It's also called a composite card.
andy_heffernan1
I think it's usually called a "zed card".
snapsnapgringrin
So the Zen master steps up to the hot dog cart and says: "Make me one with everything." The hot dog vendor fixes a hot dog and hands it to the Zen master, who pays with a $20 bill. The hot dog vendor puts the bill in the cash drawer and closes the drawer. "Where's my change?" asks the Zen master. The hot dog vendor responds: "Change must come from within." This a random one I just pulled off the internet: http://www.reneevictoria.com/zedcard.htm
barry_kenstler
Ricky, In the U.S.A., I've received consistently good results from ABC pictures. They refer to Zeds as Composites. Their run minimums are large, but results are good. They use a photo-quality lithographic process. I believe the URL is www.abcpicture.com. Generally you'll be looking to get three or four looks on that card. A headshot will definitely be one of them. If the body is good, a full-body swimsuit shot is often desirable--at least that is what all the guys say. Actually, some jobs require submission of a shot showing the body or you will not be considered. If this shoot is just to make the teen happy, I'd be a bit sensitive about doing the swimsuit shot. Remember, she'll be showing these to all of her friends, so use discretion. If she is serious about modeling, she's got a killer fig, and mom is cool with it, go for it. A shot in elegant clothing and one with a sporting, active look will round out the package. Sean, Good joke.
