randall_pukalo
Does anyone know where to get some of this stuff? I checked E-bay and found nothing. How about a Japanese version of Adorama or BH Photo, for online purchases???? Thanks in advance.
ravi_swamy
It was on ebay in early August when it was originally announced. It was a limited run so it might all be gone.
phule
If you search for the previous threads on this film, you'll find that one photo.net user put a few rolls up on Ebay. You might want to contact him about that. To the best of my knowledge, he's the only person to put this film up on Ebay so far.
25asa
I tried contacting him again for more of this stuff, and he never responded. My guess is he wont do it any longer or its out of stock.
david_stoerman
Our Fuji rep was at Photokina and said he would get some for me... Apparently Fuji does not really aknowledge this film to Fuji USA people.. BUT it can be had through, according to him, 'other means'. Also, the new Pro-X films are already being coated for us here in the US. If and when we get some Fortia for sale or 'personal use' I will let you all know. By the way (some more Photokina news)- Fuji now has a 12 inch Fontier.. This means 11x14s, 11x17s and 12x18s from the Frontier print engine. -Dave
vincent_j_m
Just to digress a bit... I've seen the results from fortia, someone posted scans on this forum. Frankly the colors were way overblown, sort of like velvia super saturated by 400%. I really wouldn't use it for anything other than cartoons :)
darin_young1
Hello everyone, Glad I happened to find this Fortia forum and see some familiar names. Regarding what Rob was saying, I was the photo.net user that was selling Fortia on ebay. The good news is that I've picked up some more and a 5-pack of 35mm Fortia will be up on ebay tomorrow evening. Scott, I apologize. I thought I had answered all the emails I received regarding Fortia. I guess I must have missed yours so I'm sorry and I didn't mean any harm. Right now, the stores here in Tokyo are down to the last packs of 35mm Fortia that are on their shelves. From what I've seen, all of the 120-rolls have been sold (or are very, very hard to find). So far in my experience using Fortia, the colors are more saturated than Velvia, especially reds and purples. Regarding what Vincent said, indeed the colors might be too saturated for some people's taste. But for some of you that don't mind this extra "punch" in color, then it might be just what you've been looking for.
25asa
Darin, Get a hold of me by email. I'm interested in a couple of rolls of 35mm. I'd like 120 too, but since its sold out I'm not worried. I would like to try some more of this before its sold out. I'd be wanting 2 rolls which would be fine. I was the one that posted the scanned results on this board on this film. Problem was I didn't use a tripod for the telling shots, so I want to correct that in the next roll I'd like to use. And try more color.
25asa
I'll post some more results on this film when I use up my next roll.
