arnabdas
Either I guess. Depends on the photos, actually.
markci
Nature stock is equally futile in all media.
luminous world
Most agencies will accept digital now and many shooters have gone completely digital. Nature photography is highly competitive and many agencies only deal with shooters known to them, which may account for at least one of the responses you got. MOst houses will want to see a good list of published credits on your resume before wanting to see your portfolio. More important than format is content. Typical pictures of iconic scenes from National Parks will get a cool reception. Develope your own vision.
andrewdawsongallery
Either, as mentioned, but it's easy to find out. Get the "The Photographer's Market" book and the agencies will list their specs. Find a specialty (or a speciality, if you're British), and excel at it. Pretty sunsets and zoo animals will get you nowhere. Cheers...

picturetaker607
If an animal is rare in the area does it make the photo more valuable? For Example, I have a few photos of Fence Lizards taken in Pennsylvania. They are very common in the south, but rare in Pa. -Matthew
