joshschutz
Here's the deal. I have been planning a 1 1/2 month road trip around the western US. I have seen a good portion of the places that i was planning on goig to, but never photographed them. I have never seen the west coast and that was on the agenda. The other day my dad called me to tell me that he had gotten 4 tickets to the Roger Waters Dark Side of the Moon Concert in Denver, where i live near. It lands directly in the middle of my trip. THere are only 3 shows scheduled in the US right now. I love Pink Floyd, and to see the genious behind it all, redo his best work is a once in a lifetime experience. I saw Pink Floyd minus Roger Waters in '96. What would you do. This is a serious delimna.
mendel_leisk
The concert is great, we saw it in Vancouver, but I wouldn't pass up the road trip.
bobar57
I'll go t the Pink Floyd concert, I'm a fan of them too and this an opportunity that probably will not repeat. The road trip can be scheduled anytime.
ken munn
What's the problem? Break the road trip to fly back to Denver for the show. Then fly back and carry on.
mwaks
Looks like Ken has the right idea. My take is there are many horror movies that start out with people on road trips. I can't think of any based around a big rock concert. ......and Pink Floyd, nah, I would not want to miss Pink Floyd.

troy_taylor
The concert because bands are not always around forever. I hate to say this. I wish that I could have seen SRV. The road will always be there.
Ian Taylor
Pink Floyd without David Gilmour? It's just a Roger Waters concert. (Would you pay to see the Stones without Keef?) <p> Go on the road trip and listen to PF CDs.
david brown
I saw his concert here in Perth and it was unbelievable, so accurate to the Album. I'd go on the trip and buy a ticket in an other city closer to where you are going! This I say as I am looking at my signed Dark Side of the Moon Album by all the original band members. machts gut
"I saw his concert here in Perth and it was unbelievable, so accurate to the Album." "Pink Floyd without David Gilmour? It's just a Roger Waters concert." So why not just listen to them album, then you have both :-) If a concert sounds like a 35year-old album I see no reason to go to the concert. Live performance lives from the artists presence, mood, flexibility, spontaneitity... I'd vote for the road trip.
david brown
No spontaniety allowed when you listen to Pink Floyd it has to be accurate, you don't change a masterpiece.
troy_taylor
The concert. Still go on the trip but at a latter Time. Then use the extra Time for planning a better trip. Too many cool places to visit and with more Time you might plan something in that you might miss. You can still listen to Pink Floyd on the trip. The song Time on The Dark Side of the Moon. jp.pfister
That's a tough one. I wouldn't miss the concert, it would be great if you could do both somehow. Maybe end your trip for the concert then continue after and go somewhere else that's closer to home.
pbalko
Ian, you got that right, but Keef without the Stones? Any day of the week! Michael, it's also a road trip movie, so it kinda blurs the lines. Josh, I'd go with Ken and Michael: take the trip, but make the effort to get back for the show. joshschutz
i think i'm leaning towards going to the show and then cutting my trip in half and just picking and choosing where i go on the road trip. i wonder if my boss will give me an extra week off? thanks everyone for your help. i do love floyd, and you guys helped me realize how much i do. i'm pretty sure we got more votes for the show than the trip. KenPapai
I am a top Pink Floyd fan -- I've all their records they made between 1967 and 1980. However, I'd do the photo road trip since you are not really seeing Pink Floyd anymore, just a Roger Waters similacrum of the real band. I own Syd's records, old DVDs, but would not make any extra effort to see whatever incarnation of them in 2008 -- about 30 years PAST their prime. FWIW... still, have fun if you do decide to go see Waters! Just like AC/DC, after 1981 they just ain't the same. But TOOL? Hellya!
juan-de-santa-anna
I think it's best you go on the road trip...send me the tickets..then I could go on a road trip to Colorado...! I think this would be the very best choice to make...besides...the west coast in the winter is so very green and lush! (check out the redwoods!) Have fun on both trips...Juan
pjmeade
I haven't seen Pink Floyd since the Animals tour, that was a long time ago. See the concert.
joemig
I saw Pink Floyd in 1994 and it was the best show I've ever seen. I would pretty much kill to see them again, and at this point, going to see Roger Waters is about as close as anyone is likely to ever get again, as the other 3 are done touring for good it seems. The road will always be there, Roger Waters, not so much...
