tom_johnson2
I created some files using Corel Photo-Paint12, trial download. Now that I am back to using my Photo-Paint9, I can't open those files created with 12. Any suggestions? Thanks
jon_austin
The obvious solution would be to reload the Photo-Paint 12 trial version, open the files you created with it, and save them in either version 9 (or earlier) format, or in a common format such as TIFF. Be aware that saving to the format of an earlier version removes features of the file (if any) not supported by the earlier version.

Once you have downloaded the trial version, and used it for the 30 day period, before it stops working, you can not download and install it again. There are probably ways to hack around that, but I am not a hacker.
jimstrutz
Borrow another computer to put the trial version on. Then you have 30 days to re-save your files in version 9 format.
jeff_rivera5
Tom, I use v.9 also. What do you think of 12? Is it worth the upgrade? Now that you are back using 9, what if anything do you miss? thanks

I found nothing that made me feel that I had to upgrade. 9 still works for me.

I've been using 8 for many years. Going to 9 is just about ?20 I think, is it worth at all? Thanks
tom_johnson2
I used 8 in the early days of my digital life. I did'nt work with it for very long before upgrading, so I didn't get very deeply into it. I upgraded to 9 simply because I got such a good price for it. I still have 8 loaded on an old computer, so I think I will open it up and play with it for a while to see if there is much differance.
