This company ("Royal Camera") from Brukline NY, offeres crazy (too

good to be true) deals on the D70. All I could find on the web is 2-

3 bad comments about them. Any experience with this company?

Just use a credit card, be prepared to contact the New York State Attorney's office, and be ready for a 'rash' of items that are not part of the advertised price. With that behind you, go ahead and try to get 'such a deal.'

I have to admit I ordered from them 4-5 yrs ago. The N70 I saw quoted in a magazine was $30 more once I called and like an idiot, I still ordered and got a grey market camera, not USA and the 4-7 UPS ground delivery took 23 days. The didn't ship my camera until day 11 from when I ordered. And most of those * too good to be true* offers are completely stripped down cameras. No software, no straps, no caps, no

lenshoods, , no battery or charger and most of all NO SERVICE.They are rather abusive on the phone when you order and EXTREMELY abusive once you make a complaint about delivery or refunds.

Like someone here once posted "if you spend a lot, you only cry one. Spend cheap and you will cry for long time"

Again, thanks for the answers. I figured as much looking at their "deals". Makes you wonder what the real operation is, as I cann't see them doing much selling with this reputation.

I actually tried to get one of their D70 deals last month. I used a one-use credit card number and email address. The next day, I received a phone call confirming the order. I was assured the D70 was in stock, but since I wasn't ordering 3 accessories, shipping would take 7-21 days (and a $59.95 S&H fee). 4 weeks later, I called again, and was told they were "out of stock" except for the U.S. version at the standard price. So I called the order line, where of course they were "in stock, no problem."

I cancelled the order. I fully expected this outcome, just as I expect Pop Photo to ignore my letter of complaint.

When I bought my D70 I searched thru all these 'Deep Discount Camera

Shops (Web Sites)'. Here are some interesting facts that I found out

about these shops:

Royal Camera
A&M Photo World
Broadway Photo
Digital Liquidators
Express Cameras
Infinity Cameras

1. Most of the above web sites have the same administrative and technical

contact address from Brooklyn New York!! (You can check their internet registry).

2. They all offer the latest camera much cheaper than the market price

, but whenever you call them it's out of stock!!

3. If you place an order then they will call you and will ask you to

buy some accessory for your camera which then will add up to equal or more

than the market price of your camera. If you refuse to buy the accessory, then your order will be cancelled!!

In short just don't waste your time and money. All the above responses in this

thread confirm my experience with these shops.

Actually this information should be posted to a more generic forum so that

more people are aware of these cheap camera shops.
• 4 weeks later...

anyone bought D70 from DiGiBest.Net??

Never heard of them. No ratings at resellerratings.com. Based in Finland, and they do not provide a contact telephone number (all contact must be by email or snail mail). Price is $400 (30%) less than B&H. Shipping via FedEx for $4! Payment via Moneygram only (will not accept credit cards due to risk of fraud - HA!). Although they are based in Finland and claim to ship worldwide, all of the "customer feedback" posted at their site is from USA "buyers". I am also curious how a company that is based in Finland can offer a 1 year USA warranty??? To good to be true? How many red flags do you need to see?! Why don't you order one and let us know how it works out.
