Anyone ever use Britek?

Im looking to buy some monolights and i came across these lights and was wondering

if anyone has ever used them and if they could give me input on them? THanks a lot

Hi Jamie,

 

I've used Britek HS Series since 1988. It's very basic and straight forward unit but also very cheap.

 

I found it very suitable for my basic sutdio/portable studio needs. Quite reliable but better check if your dealer can service them (i.e. to replace the flash bulb - happened to me after 7 years of service).

Take a look at alienbees,www.alienbees.com They are little more expensive than britek (which I looked at as well) and as far as ari's observation for the flash tubes, with AB's you can change your own. Ithink that for the money spent you will be much happier with these.

ok since im not rich bought just bought 1 B800 and an umbrella and a light stands, hopefully in the next few months i can afford 2 more... Thanks for the input, ive done a lot of reading about alienbees and they sounds like they are they way to go for my budget, thanks again, Jamie!
