Brad_
What witch hunt, Vic? There seems to be a lot of ambiguity swirling around if Jay is a dentist. I have to admit I'm curious myself. There's no witch hunt. If someone wants to know what I do I'd be glad to tell them and without being evasive. Jay could have settled the question with a simple yes or no. OK, so Jay's a mens room attendant. Nothing at all wrong with that. www.citysnaps.net
travis1
Im a dentist. Really. But I don't do my own ceramic work. Checking out this forum is more important and takes up many hours of my time already. I shoot once in a while.
vic_.
Peter, yes, Jay can more than look after himself. In fact he's insulted me a few times, but it was never with malicious intent on his part, and taken in good fun, even though it feels silly to be on the receiving end of his intelligent insults! What's going on here has crossed the line. Some people choose to keep their real identity private, and that should be respected. I thought it was an unwritten rule here. Even you deleted your last name. By the way, it wasn't just the English journalist who was "stupid" (to use your word). One of your country's top, and best looking woman journalist was also caught up in the visa thing. While you might call her stupid, it doesn't excuse the fact that she was finger-f*cked six times in eight hours, in the name of homeland security. She doesn't even look like a criminal, she looks like a cultured member of the Queen of England's family. Don't you think there's something wrong with that? That you find this thread more interesting and entertaining says more about you than about the "stupidity" you choose to see in other peoples' real problems. Things might be fine in Australia, but it's no picnic here. The fun has gone out of a lot of things we took for granted. Sorry to have gotten in the way of your entertainment. Brad_
All of this coming from Vic, someone who makes a lot of claims and exaggerations but is rarely right. Just in the last two days he's shown his ignorance of fair use and copyright law, attacked and insulted several of the best photog's here on the forum (yet offers no pix of his own), and now his silly assessment that the sky is falling here in the US. You can wallow in your misery Vic, just don't expect others to wallow with you. www.citysnaps.net
vic_.
Peter, Sorry if I overreacted. You, of all people, IMHO are one of the icons of this forum, always in a good mood and keeping things going, and with great pictures, while the rest of us argue over silly things and get worked up instead of working. Apologies.

vic_.
That's the funniest expression I've heard! Our president has been doing it to us for almost four years and we didn't even know it.

b_kosoff
It's interesting to me how many amateurs consider being a professional photographer a bad thing. I always heard that the most fortunate people are those that get paid to do what they love.
EricM
Yeah, no kidding. Choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.

vic_.
AZ, Since you're so wedded to the truth, and are all-knowing, let me enlighten you on some of the underbelly of this forum. A lot of people know your identity and where you live. Let's just say you're in the Mountain Time Zone, and leave it at that, even though you pretend to be a New York City resident. They know your profession (or should I say ex-profession), your medical condition, your current physical state. People humor you by pretending not to know who you are; it might not occur to you that they are being decent. Similarly with Jay. A lot of people who are making fun of him on this thread (not Peter A), know his real name, know his professional website address, which lists his academic credentials (and funnily enough, states that he is a member of LHSA, an organization he belittles on this forum). Whether these people, who pretend with Jay not to know anything about him, are being decent to him is a question I leave to you. I was trying to be polite with Peter A, who I don't know at all, but who is a very decent person. I'm sure Peter wasn't aware of the hypocrisy that exists. AZ, Aren't you glad you made a gratuitous jab? I hope you don't think I'm blowing anything up your bum!
._._z
No Vic, I think you're smoking crack. I don't care who thinks they know me, but if you think I'm some farm-belter pretending to be from NYC, someone's been blowing somethign your way and you've gotten a contact-high.
