david_summers
Does anyone know of a camera store in the Denver/Fort Collins area that rents large format lenses (for a 4X5)? I'm a newbie and would like to try out a couple of different focal lengths before I buy.
Also, are there any camera stores in Colorado with a good selection of used large format lenses? Does Denver have any photo swap meets?
Thanks,
-David
brent_doerzman
David, In Denver, give the guys at Camren Photographic Resources a call: 303-698-1797. or at www.camren.com. They have a full selection of large format stuff for rent. As far as used stuff, Camren might have a little bit, but try The Canera Trader: http://www.thecameratrader.com/. It's been a while since I've been there, but they used to have some. Good luck! What part of Colorado are you in? If you haven't seen it yet, check out Colorado Nature Photographers.net ( http://colorado.naturephotographers.net/index.htm ). Not exclusivly large format, but there are quite a few of us that participate that are 4x5 (and 8x10) shooters. Besides that, just a good group of like minded Colorado photographers. Take care! PS. as of this writing, the Colorado Nature Photographers site is down for maintenance, but should be up soon.
brent_doerzman
Sorry, I guess I can't type very well today. :) That's The Camera Trader, not Canera. Oops.
virgw_owens
I have had 2 terrible experiences there. No one shoudl to business with them. Try Colorado Camera.
esther_her
I took a look at Camera Trader's website. Something seems fishy. I just think that listing customers personal information on their "hall of shame" link is unprofessional.
