lawrence_reed
I recently bought an Olympus 400 Stylus and though I like it, I have had a problem I am hoping someone can explain. In September, a thin shadow showed up diagonally across a dozen or more pictures. Then it seemed to go away. Then in November, while on vacation, it reappeared on about the first 30 or so pictures then faded out. It hasn't reoccurred since, but I'd like to know what caused it so as to avoid it in the future. You can see what the shadow looks like if you click on this link to three pictures I drew from my shutterfly.com albums: http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b341567d05e8 Anybody know what might have caused this and what I can do to ensure it doesn't happen again? Thanks. LWR
richard_oleson
Look inside the camera for a piece of light sealing material or something similar that may have come loose and be dangling in the area between the lens and the film (close to the film). Remember that the image is formed on the film upside down, so you're looking for something coming down diagonally from near the center of the top of the frame. rick :)=
lawrence_reed
Many thanks, Rick, but my Stylus 400 is a digital camera so I think your advice does not apply in this case but I'm very appreciative nonetheless. L. Reed
