canon rebel 2000 sync with flash - HELP

FP = Focal Plane. It stands for high speed sync with focal plane shutters. It does this by rapidly pulsing the flash for the duration that the shutter curtains travel across the front of the film. Problem with it is it vastly lowers the effective GN (power) of the flash while doing this neat little trick. It works for fill flash if you aren't too far from your subject.

If you want more power, you're stuck with 1/90 sec. or slower.

BTW, if you have a non-dedicated flash, the Rebel 2000 will sync to 1/125. But for sales reasons Canon chose to cripple the Rebels with the slow 1/90.
