hyunyu
I'm looking for the smallest case possible for the Stylus Epic (the non-zoom model). Does Olympus make one specifically for it? I love how small and portabloe the camera is, but all the "small" cases I've looked at (by Lowepro, Case Logic, etc.) are too big and bulky to be worn inconspicuously on the belt. Thanks very much in advance!
george_shihanian
Keep looking, small ones are out there. I've seen them in most camera stores and also Wal-Mart. Sometimes you can even get them in drug store chains like Rite Aid, CVS, etc. I got one a long time ago for my wife's Stylus. They're only around $7- $10 for a small one. tom_s.
Olympus certainly did make a case for a "Special Edition" Epic back around 2000... I know this because I have one. It's certainly the smallest case possible for this camera, it fits it perfectly as it should. B&H ran some kind of special back then where you'd get the case, a battery, and a roll of film for a few extra dollars so I went for it. I bought another Epic bundle last year, and ended up with a generic P&S case. Not too large, but not as small as the previous one. There's room for an extra roll of film in that slightly larger case, however.

henricus
They do and it is a beauty. It is nice and small and can be kept on the camera when shooting too. One of my employees just bought an Olympus Stylus Epic from B&H and it came with a case and a roll of 12 exposure film. I just don't know if you can get the case seperately, but it is worth a try. simon evans.
Two years ago I bought a genuine Olympus black leather-look pouch for my Epic Limited that fits liker a glove and is the same size as the camera. It is stocked by Jessops in the UK, priced £9.95. It has a velcro closure and belt loop. My Epic goes everywhere in this case (and even fell off the roof of my car at 45mph) and both are still in excellent condition.

hyunyu
Thanks, guys, for all the responses. Yes, I know B&H carries the "kit" version with the case, but mine was a gift and let's just say I wasn't in a position to demand the kit version! The Olympus website lists a few compact cases, but I'd hate to buy something sight unseen and find out that it's not the right case. Love the camera, though. What a little gem. hyunyu
Well, stopped by the local Longs on the way home and picked up a nice, padded case by Tamrac:

The full product name is: "Foam Padded Ultra-Compact Photo & Digital Camera Bag", item no. 4308. Mine's black, but they also had blue cases. It fits perfectly height- and depth-wise, but is a bit big on the width end. Oh well. I'm sure the Olympus case is nicer, but the price was right for this Tamrac case--$4.99. For those with digital cameras, there's a front mesh pocket for flash media.
Thought I'd post in case this might benefit others in the future! george_shihanian
Glad you found something. Don't know how much extra room you have on the side, but you could try and stack two film boxes there to take up the space, or get a small scrap piece of foam and cut it to size and hot-glue it to the inside of the case for a more snug fit. Hot glue will usually come apart cleanly if you ever want to remove it.
