rich_dutchman1
I have been looking into Pictage.com recently. Does anyone know of similar services? After a wedding, I like the fact that I can batch the images, FTP, and walk away. Pictage handles the proofing, sales, follow up, and they offer leather, flush mounted and reportage albums. However, I find them to be expensive - I estimate their various fees add up to at least 35% of every order. I currently do everything myself: I create the proof gallery and shopping cart, which are hosted for me, and I print on Epson 2200s with a flow system and ColorByte Image Print. My equipment investment was recouped after one client, and my production fees are a fraction of Pictage.com's. Unfortunately, it is time consuming, and I'd rather use my setup for personal work. I want a service to take over post- production but Pictage.com and labs are incredibly expensive. At the very least I need someone to handle printing and album building. Any thoughts? bob_carpenter1
Other than Kodaks lustrecolor there isnt much out there. We are using Pictage because its more compatible with a mac but it is a very nice site and clients seem to like it. It is definitely expensive but your paying for the convenience. I'm sure overtime there will be other services at affordable prices but for now your choices are limited
tod_odriscoll
You might want to check out www.printroom.com. They offer a similar service to Pictage. However, I believe they may be less expensive than Pictage. I recently signed up with printroom.com, and they are now printing a sports job for me. I've been happy with the job they're doing, and the customer service is quite good. Although I do mostly weddings, this sports job just came out of the blue. I haven't used printroom for a wedding yet, but I'm sure I will soon. Anyway, that's another option for you, so you might want to check it out.
