ann_m
I am interested in seeing the work of photographers whose images deal predominately with the concept of time so that I may steal from (OOPS! ... I mean learn from) them. The incredible images of Hiroshi Sugimoto would be an example of the conceptual type of work I am seeking to explore. Cheers & Thanks,Annie

ann_m
Thank you for your enlightening suggestions! I had never encountered the work of Thomas Joshua Cooper and would like to see more of his work. However, there are only a few images on the web and the usual online book sellers and my available library catalogues have virtually nothing. Could someone please recommend any on line resources or publications that I could reference. Thanks!
helenbach
Ann, Glad you like his work. I don't think that much of it is in print. 'Between Dark and Dark', and 'Dreaming the Godstadt' (also search on Gokstadt) are the two I'm familiar with, apart from Dialogue with Photography. There's also Wild, Simply Counting Waves and A Handful of Stones - but I'm not familiar with those. Did you find the page on the Sean Kelly gallery website? There are 23 of his pictures (not that the web can even begin to show what they look like) and a good bio. http://www.skny.com/lasso-bin/exhibition.lasso?-token.ExID=10122 He is a genial person - you might want to try contacting him via the Glasgow School of Art. When I first saw his work in the mid eighties I was puzzled by it and thought "I have to meet this guy" so I went on a couple of his workshops at The Photographer's Place. ann_m
Helen, Thanks for the link. I hike a wild coastline almost daily and his work truly resonates with me....... absolutely sublime. So glad you answered my query. Cheers, Annie
tim_atherton9
David Hockney, possibly Uta Barth (take a look at Gerhard Richter as well), Sally Mann - in some sense, all hee work, but especially her current work What Remains.
struan_gray
Calling him a photographer is a bit of a stretch, but looking at Andy Goldsworthy's work always gives me more to think about than most of the stuff produced by more craft minded artists. I have his book "Time" which has a useful summary of his career as well as photographs of works which explicitly address ideas related to time and its passage. Huw Price's "Time's Arrow and Archimedes' Point" is worth a read too.
