brownie starflash

i recently bought a brownie starflash camera, and i am not sure if it is working properly or not and was hoping that someone might be able to give me some advice. The shutter release seems to be working alright, as the shutter opens when you press it. However, the shutter doesn't seem to be closing properly. Maybe it is just sticking, i don't know. only after you turn the film advance knob does the shutter release reset (it has a double exposure safety) and the shutter closes. obviously that can't be normal, can anyone out there give me some pointers on how to fix it?
