karl_yik1
The focal lengths are every so close to each other, which makes you wonder whats the point? I would keep the 80, 150, 250 and buy either a 50 or a 40.
douglas_green1
Wim, which religion would argue for a Holga over a Bronica, Rollei, or Blad? Is there some sect that is exclusively the belief system for imbeciles that I'm not aware of?
edward_burlew
This is another stupid question session. And the person who said forget the CF 250mm unless it is a superachromat is genuinely not a Hasselbald user. All the 250mm's are fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best, My UN-humbele opinion, combo is the 50mm, 100mm, 180mm and a 2x Mutar, get a cuple of extention tubes and there is NOTHING you cannot get a great picture of. The old style was 50-80-150 and that is great too. I used that for twenty years!!!!
johnmarkpainter
Vic, The difference in image from Mamiya 7 and the Hassy is VIBE. The Mamiya 7 lenses are KILLER SHARP. The Hassy lenses are vibe for days. jmp
wim_van_velzen
Hi Douglas, <p> I was just referring to Vic's question: <i>Is the brand a religious preference (as in the Leica forum), or is there logic to it?</i> <p> Apart from the assumption in Vic's question that religion and logic exclude each other, I think Leica, Hasselblad and Rollei are part of what Buddha teaches: 'all desire is suffering'. ;-) <p> <a href="http://www.fotografiewimvanvelzen.nl">Wim</a>
pawel1
I agree with many of the responses. I have always approached building a lens collection with a 'doubling' approach, i.e. I have the 50, 100, 180, and 350. With a 1.4 teleconverter, I can cover most applications. I might suggest for you the 60, 100, 180/250, but it really must be determined by what/how you shoot.
yun_chen3
60,100,150. And 60,100,180 should be better.
vic_.
<I>John Painter: "... The difference in image from Mamiya 7 and the Hassy is VIBE. ... The Mamiya 7 lenses are KILLER SHARP. The Hassy lenses are vibe for days."</I> <P>Thanks for this. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to test the Hassy side by side with a Mamiya 7ii, so I look forward to this difficult task! <P>I bought the 60-80-100-150 lenses because I have a full money back guarantee on anything I don't want (it's nice dealing with generous people), including on all the Hassy gear. Rather than wallow in indecision I might as well try it all out while I can. I know I don't want to go wider than 60 and longer than 150. <P>Thanks again everyone for all your valuable insights.
