ian_bromehead2
I'm being offered a Leitz (Leica) Pradovit Color Slide Projector with wired remote and a Leica Elmaron 100mm f/2.8 lens, but cant find many guidelines on its value. It seems to be in virtually new condition, but I dont know how old these are and how valuable they are.I havent seen any of these on ebay for the last 2-3 months since I been looking, and a google serach didnt bear much joy either.Any advice concerning this beast and its value would be really helpfulMany ThanksIan
john_boyle3
I have one with the 90mm f2.5 Colorplan lens that I bought some 30 years ago. It's an excellent projector but I don't know what its value is today. You may want to check on the availability of slide trays for it.
jay_.
Slide trays are plentiful, however that projector doesn't take the Leica locking trays if memory serves me, as later ones do. The Colorplan 90 lenses are preferable to the Elmaron. Leica still services the projectors, they're tough as tanks (and about as lightweight and esthetically pleasing). Given that the market for slide projectors has all but withered and dried to a fine powder and disspated like ashes in the wind, I wouldn't pay more than $75 for it. Rob F.
A Pradovit Color 250 with, as I recall, a 90 Colorplan, just went for around $250 or $275 or so on the bay, if that's any help. At the other end of the spectrum, I just scored a Pradovit F with 90 Colorplan, for ten bucks plus shipping. The fan belt is busted, but otherwise it seems to be okay except for needing a little lubrication in the mechanism.
Robin Smith
I would say $200-$300 depending on condition. They are superb - make sure it is a 250 watt one though as you might as well have it over a 150 watt. The Colorplan is more desirable for more people, but the Elmaron is a fine lens. ian_bromehead2
Thanks to all, although I'm not sure whether this one offered to me is a Pradovit F, Color 250 or what. the offer just says Pradovit Color. I do have images of it My older Boots projector, used both horizontal and carousel holders but vertically. i think this was made for Boots by hanimex. Does the leica pradovit Color use special slide holders unique to leica ? In the images of this projector they look identical to the horizontal holders i have. the description I received it also say "Built-in interval timer: Select from 2.4 to 24 second intervals on 60 cycle AC", and in one image I cna see a sticker ont he rear of the unit which says "... only use with remote control #37934..". There is a label on the side of the projector which says "Pradovit Color" Colro is in red and lower that pradovit which is in black the front just shows a leitz red label Thanks for your assistance<div></div>
