darin_cozine
Anyone have any experience with an Ilex 65mm f8 wide field paragon?Mine covers 4x5 and seems to have some movement. I dont have much movement on my 4x5 at that focal length. I havent used much film wth it yet to evaluate its sharpness, and the only thing I have to compare it to is a Super Angulon 90mm f8. golliegwillie
I have an Ilex F8 Acugon which I use mainly as a 6x9 lens. On occassion I used it as an ultra wide 4x5 lens, but it's gotta be a shot that doesn't require movements because there's really not enough coverage for any. As a 6x9 I find it to be a very sharp lens, but definitely a notch below my two best lenses, my Fuji 125mm W and my Fuji 250 6.3 W. Still it's my third best lens, and since I don't have any other wides (except my 90mm as a 4x5 lens) it get alot of use. As a 4x5 the corners are bit soft, but that's partly because it's already at it's coverage limit. For 6x9 I rarely run out coverage and get to use the sweet part of the lens.
