WM
OK, I am having a slow night, so out of curiosity, what do you guys normally wear when you are out shooting ...... a wedding ? a corporate shoot ? a portrait session ? streetshooting ? 2yellowdogs
Something frilly and lacey, usually. It doesn't make my photographs any better, but I do feel pretty.
paulstenquist
I prefer to work in the nude, but I will sometimes throw on a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt when I have to get down on the ground for a shot. You know how those prickly things can be if you're not well protected.

ray_moth
I usually wear something along the lines of that bokeh-enhanced Australian gentleman in your excellent photograph - the chap brandishing his fist, who appears to be threatening the hapless cameraman with physical violence. raymond_tai
Interesting question. Thinking about this, the fact that I am shooting does not dictate what I wear....but what I wear influences my choice of gear. For example in the winter when i am likely to wear my multi pocketed black Aigle jacket I would have the M around my neck with the Sekonic in one pocket and an extra lens or P&S in the other. While in hot days I would just take the camera bag and take whatever I can carry, most likely two Mamiya 6's.
jerry_ammons1
Funny you should post this, I just purchased a pair of EMT pants for my street shooting. They have 9 big velcro pockets for lots of storage and they are very comfortable. They are also water resistant, perfect for street shooting. sam_portera
John, were you dressed for mardi gras? You look like the golden child.
roberto_watson_garc_a
Jeans, comfortable shoes (very important), a shirt with pockets, a small waist pack (for film, keys wallet etc.), some tequila and something to smoke (just a little).
working camera
It is a legal requirement of ever photographer to wear, steal caped safety boots with thick cotton socks optional, bright orange Day-Glow safety vest, and helmet (worn backwards) when entering a site. Having a dirty big mine truck run over you is bad so you have to look silly in an attempt to avoid this. Outside work hours, this gear is also great attire for mardi-gras events and alike. erin_____grasshopper__rice
AZ- Rabbits where pancakes on their heads? Yesterday I went to check my PO Box wearing a nice white sweater and new $50 sandals. Not knowing of course I would end up leaping across one irrigation canal and stepping in another (twice!) (rushing water of course). As well as walking through the desert. Let's hope those pictures are worth it. *sigh*
working camera
When mardi-gras attire is outlawed, only outlaws will have mardi-gras attire. The day they rescind workplace health and safety regulations is the day industrial photographers can hang up their mardi-gras outfits. As it stands mardi-gras attire is compulsory. You would be surprise how far a Day-Glow safety vest will get you. Looking official means people dont ask awkward questions when you are in places you really should not be.
