cindy_hervey
I recently purchased a 2.5x Digital Optics Pro High Resolution Telephoto lens for by Olympus C-700 camera. From all the information I found on this lens before I bought it, it is supposed to work with the auto focus on the camera. It does not focus at all. Very blurry, no matter the distance. Even tried manual focus, no luck! Has anyone else used a telephoto lens on the Olympus C-700 Series cameras?? What results have you had? I'm wondering if I have a defective lens!?!? Thanks for any advice,Cindy
lex_jenkins
There are two (or more) possible problems here: 1. A tele, wide or macro adapter should be matched to the lens. That's why Olympus offers various tele, wide and macro adapters for their various non-interchangeable lens digital and film cameras (the non-interchangeable lens film SLRs were dubbed "ZLRs"). I tried the telephoto adapter designed for an Olympus iS-2 film ZLR on my Olympus C-3040Z digicam. Got inferior results - not awful, just not very good. My mom got good results on her iS-2 so I gave it to her. 2. The non-Olympus brand adapter you bought may simply have inferior optics. It happens. As for the AF not working, make sure your camera is not set in macro mode or some other setting that might be interfering. Otherwise, it sounds like you simply have a mismatched camera and adapter.
