RobertChura
In the good old days, I would receive an email on a subject such as "Canon 10d" and I would get a link directly to a picture relating to the subject. I would click the link and be taken directly to the image posted. Now it goes just to a posting that the image maker made and I have to search for the photo. mottershead
No, because I cannot understand your description of the problem. What feature of the good old days had the behaviour you are describing?
RobertChura
Thanks for responding Brian I have asked for email alerts with keyword notification. It sends me the email with a link. The link used to send me directly to the photograph in question but about @2 months ago(?) after you upgraded the new servers, the link will send me to the photographers home page and I have to search through his list to find the correct photo. Sometimes I get the email after he posted many images and finding it is a pain.
RobertChura
Here is an example if it helps?
bobatkins
I still don't quite understand. Where is this email alert coming from? From a forum alert? From a classifieds alert? From the gallery? I don't recall ever being sent links directly to images, though maybe I never signed up for such a service. I don't see how an alert on "Canon 10D" would ever link directly to an image. mottershead
You seem to have a keyword alert registered on the Photo Critique forum. How did you do that? The code that sends out the forum alerts expects the alerts to be exclusively on Question and Answer forums. So far as I know, there isn't any user interface for creating keyword alerts on the Photo Critique forum. Up until a few months ago there was code in the Question and Answer forum message display script (q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl) to detect when it was (incorrectly) being invoked to display a message (i.e. a Critique Request) from the Photo Critique forum and to redirect it to the correct URL (pc-fetch-msg.tcl rather than q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl). When I did the forum format change I removed that code because I thought it was obsolete. I don't know how you were able to create a keyword alert on the Photo Critique Forum in the first place. RobertChura
Go to Forum Then to email alerts in the bright blue box Scroll to a subject (Nikon) Scroll to keyword such as D100 Then you get an alert! To me this is an interesting way to view anything taken with d100 Nikon which I am interested in buying.
