Wrong film speeds and film type clarification

Okay, so I'm just beginning here and I've made a couple of mistakes

with my film that I need help with.

First, What is the difference between Kodak B&W 400TX film and Kodak

B&W 400TMAX film? Basically what's the difference between the TX and

TMAx?

And also, being the dummy that I am, is it still possible to develop

a roll of kodak 125PX if I accidentally shot it at a film speed 400

instead of at 125? Or is the whole entire role of film basically

ruined if shot at the wrong film speed? If not, do I develop the film

for 125 or for 400? Please help ASAP!! Thanks!!!

TX is Tri-X an older style emulsion with more pronouced grain but many find this appealing, its entirely personal preferance.

TMAX is a new T-grain emulsion with less grain.

There are also other differences regarding exposure latitude, pushability and development time.

If you shot a roll of 125 at 400 you will need to push it just over 1.5 stops, you should check the massive dev chart at www.digitaltruth.com to find the times to use with the developer you like to push that film. If you dont process your own film you will need to find a lab that will push the film for you.

I basically did the same thing on the first half of a 24exposure 125 BW Ilford. My setting was at 400. My question is what to expect of the shots when pushing over 1.5 Stops.

Does anyone know of a good online lab that will do this? For a roll like mine what would you guys suggest my instructions be for the Lab?
